Ladies

The Ladies Section at Ogbourne Downs is a mix of both seven and five day members, many of whom meet three times a week to play eighteen or nine holes. Ladies competitions are held on Thursdays and Sundays with more than 65 individual competitions played throughout the year. Additionally we hold a Knock-out competition and Round Robin through the summer months. A few times a year we get together with the Seniors section for competitions, matches which we all enjoy whether we are playing with them (in a Texas Scramble) or against them (Four Ball Better Ball).

In the winter months many of us participate in a mixed Round Robin competition at weekends and a mixed Knock-out competition during summer months. There are also several other mixed competitions held throughout the year..

We participate in the Clubs annual Inter Centenary match (with a selection of Clubs that originated in the same year as Ogbourne Downs (1907).

Inter Club Competitions

As a Ladies section we enter ALL Wiltshire county competitions including League (currently we are in division 2) , the Scratch Knock-out and the Handicap Knock-out. During the summer months we play Friendly matches (both Ladies and Mixed) against other Clubs in Wiltshire and adjoining counties. These matches are open to all lady members regardless of ability or handicap. With all these Inter Club matches to play there is plenty for everyone and all those who join in get a great deal of pleasure from them.

Opens

The Ladies section organizes and hosts three Opens per year. The Spring Open Bowmaker, a Foursomes Eclectic Open over thirty holes and a Mixed Open. These competitions are all open to members.
